Class Suicide

"The proletariat seizes from state power and turns the means of production into state property to begin with. But thereby it abolishes itself as the proletariat, abolishes all class distinctions and class antagonisms, and abolishes also the state as state..."

The proletariat is a unique class in that its self-activity leads it to end class society itself, as Marx and Engels showed nearly two centuries ago. The working class finds in its condition nothing worth defending nor advancing. Instead it is presented with a state of things so wretched that the only conceivable way out is to violently obliterate itself. The remains left from this obliteration will be unrecognizable; every facet of social life will be completely changed by the social revolution. Long since this assertion by Marx, much writing has been done on the subject. This site intends to be a collection of these class "suicide notes", detailing the life of the proletariat, its plan for suicide, and what it expects to see in the afterlife.

I do not intend it to be a library (as if I could outcompete marxists.org and libcom.org). All texts are ripped directly from other websites with minimal editing (often including bolding of my favorite sections).
